Lucas

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of growing up and becoming something truly WONDERFUL, so I became HAPPY!!! A HUGE part of my happiness has been brought on by the birth of my heart and soul, who is a 10-year-old Black Labrador Retriever named Lucas. We have had Lucas since he was taken from his birth mother at 6 weeks old. The last ten years with Lucas have by far been the happiest years of my life. Lucas brings much joy and love to everyone he encounters; everyone just loves him. He shares his witty, hilarious, playful antics with everyone he meets, and in return, he receives their love, attention, along with some ear rubs, belly scratches, and their undivided attention for a little while! I love sharing Lucas with others because I know the feeling of love and acceptance that he brings to me, and I want to be able to share those feelings with others. If they are open and accept it, then I know the feelings they will feel and how amazing it is to feel that amount of love from an animal. Every single time our doorbell rings, Lucas thinks that it's for him. He will anxiously run to the door to see who has come to see him and play with him and his toys. Once he can see who it is, he quickly and excitedly trots in to his toy box and roots around with his nose until he finds a toy that he just knows is the toy they came to play with. He will then trot back in to them where he will insist that they play with him and his gift in the form of an old, used toy. Any time company stops by Lucas seems to revert in age to being a young pup again. I just love to watch him react when there's company here. Lucas is the highlight of both mine and his daddy's life, and we wouldn't trade him for anything else in this entire world. I just wish I could keep him in my life longer, but I can relax and rest comfortably in the fact that I know without a doubt that no one could have ever given him a better or happier life than what he has shared with me and my husband, Dallas. We have given Lucas all the love and happiness that he has given us and more. Choosing to share our lives with Lucas was the absolute best decision we've ever made because Lucas has shaped and changed our lives for the better in every way imaginable! We love him, and he loves us. A love that will go on long after he's gone! Thank you God for the years you've shared with us the gift of Lucas, which without a doubt came straight from Heaven to me!
