Biography

UPDATE: I lost my sweet soul dog on April 15. It's been more than a month and I miss her with my entire body. RIP Sasha, I'll love you forever. Nine years ago, Sasha joined my life as a rescue with a "bad behavior" reputation and a heart full of anxiety from a life unknown. She wasn't an easy start, but she has since transitioned into the absolute center of my world—moving from a nervous rescue to a mellow, "chatting" shadow who never wants to be out of arm's reach. Though her DNA says White Swiss Shepherd, German Shepherd, and Mastiff, she carries the noble look of an Anatolian and the big, floppy jowls of a Mastiff. She’s at her happiest when the windows are down and those jowls are catching the breeze on the long, slow way home. Sasha is currently on hospice care, navigating terminal inflammatory mammary cancer and IVDD. While our focus is now entirely on palliative comfort and fixing her pain, Sasha isn't just "getting by." She’s busy being the "Princess of the Patio," enjoying freshly cooked chicken and being the world's most dedicated "velcro dog." She is profoundly loved, and every day she spends with a paw draped across my arm is a reminder of how far she’s come from that first day nine years ago.
