Holly Go Lightly

Seth, my Husky for 14 years, had to be put down this past April. I was completely heartbroken. I went into a deep depression because of the loss of my best friend. I felt so alone.i missed him so very much. Fast forward to September of 2026 : As much as I had loved Seth with all of my hearti, I felt a huge void inside my soul that only a dog's unconditional love could fill. I found myself looking through adoptable dogs that quite possibly need me as much as I needed them.i came across a stunning picture that really struck my heart cords. So, I took a chance and called Shannon at Somebody to the Rescue to ask about her. Shannon was great! She allowed me to take Holly on a trial period basis of 30 days. But I knew as soon as I saw her face , she was not going back. Holly has really helped me in more ways that I know. She is very nurturing and patient with me. Although my love for her is different than that of Seth, it is by no means any less than that of Seth's. She made sure that I'm up in the mornings, that way I do not waste sunlight. We go walking down by the river several times a week. She absolutely loves it there. So many new smells to smell. I had bought a kennel but never had any occasion to use it. She is my match. My best friend.My soulmate. My everything.i didn't think that I had enough room in my heart to love another dog as much as I did Seth.But Iwas wrong. Dead wrong. And I'm so glad that I gave her time to get acclimated to me, and her new surroundings.We are just like peas and carrots! I take her with me everywhere I go that she is allowed or i do not stay as long so that I can get back to my Holly.
