Biography

Kabela was born 07/12/2020. She unfortunately & unexpectedly passed away, 3 days before her 4th birthday, 07/09/2024. Her necropsy revealed a chronic, most likely from birth, liver disease, that none of the vets she saw throughout her lifetime, ever diagnosed. Even the 'specialist' vet assumed epilepsy by her age & never did the proper tests to rule out a metabolic disease for confirmation. This disease ended up making her more susceptible to her cause of passing - severe necro hemorrhagic pancreatitis with a portal vein thrombosis & systemic inflammatory complications/SIRS. Her necropsy showed affects on her pancreas, brain, heart, spleen, intestines, bladder & of course, her liver. She developed blood clots, possibly DIC & possible ulcers. Even with vet care, her body was not able to overcome this, due to her conditions that went undiagnosed. She fought gastritis & other GI issues most of her life, which vets said 'husky's have sensitive stomachs & never made the connection to her liver disease. She passed in her mum's arms, with her dad by her side. She is Heaven & at peace but missed every second still. The goal is to share her story, so other pet parents don’t feel stifled by arrogant vets, who don’t care to take the owner’s daily experiences with their own pet, into account & continue to fight to be their animals advocate even against ignorant vets. She was the happiest, sweetest girl & I was blessed to have her while I did.

I am so very sorry. She was a beautiful dog. We lost a dog 20 years ago due to pancreatitus. Spent thousands trying to save her but it was not enough. She is still missed to this day.
