Mae

'Maybelline' came to me as 'Vae' from H.E.A.R.T. Rescue group many years ago. She was a foster fail, from a divorce/ breeding operation down south. She was shy, practically unhandled, and very averse to any touch or cuddling. I had Mae until kidney failure took her at age 15. This is one of my favorite pictures of her, because it documents the very first time she enjoyed a bath.. the water was warm, the groomer & I worked on her together, talking reassuringly to her, and she just.. melted. I miss Mae, my little mascot. She never was much of a cuddler but she always made sure I knew she was nearby and had my back. Godspeed sweet Mae.
