DogDog "Rescue Voting Contest"
Official RulesNO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE.
The DogDog "Rescue Voting Contest" (the "Contest") is sponsored by DogDog.org (the "Sponsor").
1. Eligibility
This Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or the age of majority in their state of residence at the time of participation ("Participants").
This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
2. Contest Period
The Contest runs on a monthly basis, beginning at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time on the first day of each calendar month and ending at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the last day of that same month (the "Contest Period").
The Sponsor's computer is the official timekeeping device for this Contest.
3. How to Participate
Step 1: Install and Use the DogDog App
Participants may vote through the DogDog mobile application or via the Free Alternative Method of Entry described below.
Step 2: Vote In-App
Participants may vote by tapping the "Vote for rescues & charities" button within the app.
To submit a valid vote, participants must:
- (Optional) Enter a valid email address
- Select or enter the name of an animal rescue or shelter
- (Optional) Provide a short message explaining why they support that organization
Each completed submission counts as one (1) vote.
Step 3: Additional Voting Opportunities
Participants may earn additional votes through the following actions:
- Searching on DogDog: Participants receive one (1) additional vote per qualifying search performed within the DogDog app. Searches must be genuine and not repetitive, automated, or conducted for the primary purpose of generating votes.
- Sharing DogDog: Participants receive additional votes for each new user referred who installs and accesses the DogDog app through the participant's unique referral link. Referrals must result in genuine new users. Self-referrals, duplicate accounts, or fraudulent referrals will not be counted.
Sponsor reserves the right to determine, modify, or limit how additional votes are awarded.
Step 3A. Free Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE)
No purchase, payment, search activity, app download, or referral is required to participate.
Participants may obtain votes without using the DogDog application by submitting an email to:
Each email must include:
- Participant's full name
- Valid email address
- Name of the selected animal rescue or shelter
Each valid email submission will receive one (1) vote.
Limit one (1) email entry per person and per email address per day during the Contest Period.
Use of multiple email addresses, identities, devices, or other methods to exceed this limit is prohibited.
Automated, bulk, or scripted email submissions are prohibited and will not be counted.
Sponsor reserves the right to verify participant identity and to disqualify duplicate, fraudulent, or unverifiable entries.
4. Voting Rules and Limitations
- Each vote must reference a legitimate animal rescue or shelter.
- Participants may submit multiple votes, subject to reasonable use limits and fraud prevention measures.
- Automated, scripted, or bulk submissions are prohibited.
Participants are strictly prohibited from:
- installing and uninstalling the app repeatedly to gain additional votes
- conducting searches that are repetitive, excessive, non-genuine, automated, irrelevant, or otherwise intended primarily to generate additional votes rather than to use DogDog for legitimate search activity
- using bots, AI tools, scripts, or automated systems to vote or generate searches
Sponsor reserves the right to reject or remove votes that are:
- incomplete or invalid
- submitted with fake or disposable email addresses
- associated with suspicious, excessive, or unnatural activity
5. Vote Integrity and Anti-Manipulation
Sponsor reserves the right to monitor voting activity and remove votes that appear to be generated through fraudulent or manipulative practices. Sponsor may evaluate search activity based on factors including, but not limited to, search frequency, repetition, timing, referral patterns, device activity, account activity, and other signals reasonably indicating whether activity is genuine or manipulative.
Prohibited actions include:
- use of bots, AI-generated activity, scripts, or automation tools
- creation of multiple fake identities or email addresses
- abuse of referral or sharing systems
- coordinated spam campaigns
- repetitive, excessive, non-genuine, or manipulative search activity intended primarily to generate votes
- any attempt to artificially inflate vote totals
All decisions regarding vote validity are made at Sponsor's sole discretion and are final.
6. Determination of Winners
At the end of each Contest Period, Sponsor will tally all valid votes.
One or more animal rescues or shelters receiving the highest number of valid votes will receive donations from DogDog. The number of recipients and donation amounts may vary from month to month and will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
7. Prize / Donations
Donations will be awarded to eligible animal rescue organizations or shelters based on Contest results.
Total donation amounts, number of recipients, and allocation structure may vary each month.
Donations will be made directly to selected organizations, not to individual participants.
If a selected organization is determined to be ineligible, inactive, or unable to accept the donation, Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate recipient.
8. Notification
Selected organizations will be announced via DogDog channels, including the app, website, and social media, following the conclusion of each Contest Period.
Sponsor may contact selected organizations to confirm eligibility and arrange donation delivery.
9. Platform Disclaimers
This Contest may be promoted across third-party platforms; however, voting occurs exclusively within the DogDog app.
This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with any third-party platform.
Participants provide information directly to the Sponsor.
10. Conditions
By participating, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor.
Sponsor is not responsible for:
- technical issues affecting app access or functionality
- interrupted or incomplete submissions
- network or system errors
- unauthorized interference
Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if necessary.
11. Limitation of Liability
By participating, participants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising out of participation in the Contest or acceptance of any prize or donation.
12. Publicity
By participating in the Contest, participants agree that Sponsor may publicly announce the names of the winning organizations and may reference submitted votes, comments, or user handles in promotional materials related to the Contest.
13. Governing Law
This Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and the State in which Sponsor is headquartered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any disputes arising from this Contest will be resolved individually and not as part of a class action.
