Dobby

A volunteer/friend at MCFACC arranged for my partner, Betsy, and me to meet Dobby at our local shelter. He was wearing a cast on one front leg and giving us his best "please take me home" look, so we complied, and soon he met his 4 siblings. He'd later need orthopedic surgery on his other front leg, as they were both injured by a fall when he was younger, and the affected legs are a bit crooked now. We've had many dogs over the years, but Dobby is by far the sweetest and least confrontational, and to our constant amusement, very quirky. Though meant to be Betsy's companion, he's become my constant buddy, going everywhere with me and hanging by me at home. Betsy also has her "shadow" dog, a Corgi mix we found at a shelter in NC. At almost 11 years old, Dobby is now fighting a losing battle with cancer after surgery and radiation in Oct. '25. His spirit is good, though, and he's definitely living his best life, not that he wasn't before ;)
