Biography

This is Sargent Tucker, separated from his previous owner in early Sept. 2014 and on the lam for nearly 2 months. The owner was getting her children's haircut before school started when whoever was in their vehicle let S. T. out along with their other dog and shopping carts scared him out of his collar and into the woods he ran. When owner was located she said she could no longer have him where she lived. (He was a known ankle biter). He was just over 2 1/2 y.o. when we got him. His behavior was a huge challenge. We had to install a fence in our back yard, hired a dog trainer and Sonya Fitzpatrick when we were at our wits end. We learned he had a spinal condition that had him in ongoing moderate to severe pain constantly. He had abuse issues about people wearing boots. We put him on gabapentin with the suggestion of Sonya to help him, along with use of pet control spray to end obnoxious behavior. He so changed neighbors thought we had rehomed him or something and gotten another dog looking like him. Sonya helped Tucker as we called him have a number of good years with us. Tucker passed after this submission with extensive cancer which with the pain control we maintained him it, it was still amazing he enjoyed life, ate well and had other normal behaviors that endeared him to us. He will be missed by family members and neighbors and friends who had come to love him as well. RIP my dear boy the doors of heaven were opened to you after living with constant pain for most likely all of your life. Good dog, go play now with Timmy and Lexi. You all have been waiting to be reunited again. We love you all!
