Biography

I was on the hunt for a Cane Corso. I kept missing out at the different animal shelters around us. I kept looking on Petfinder every week. I had just missed out on a puppy at the Dumb Friends League by an hour. 😕 I hopped on Petfinder again and found Tristan in Brighton, Colorado at the pound. He was older than I necessarily wanted (1 1/2), but he was so gorgeous! Regardless, I knew that temperament would be the key. (My grandfather was a champion trainer and breeder of German shepherds in Hawaii so I grew up in the kennel). I already have a female pitbull. I got her from Code Red Rescue in Texas. She was being fostered in her home with three kids under the age of 6, 2 cats and three other dogs. She is happy go lucky, and loves everyone. She just wants to play and run. Well, Tristan was calm, cool and collected. They brought him into the fenced in area to meet us and Dutchess. They were not too into each other. That’s a good sign. Tristan would observe the other workers walking other dogs by the chain-link fence that we were enclosed in. He didn’t charge the fence or bark. He just looked curiously and smelt around the area we were in. He took to my partner first. My partner fell in love first. After meeting him and seeing how the dogs responded to each other after about 20 minutes, I had made my decision. It was definitely a great decision! He is so handsome! He has a gray brindle, that is ghostly like a Weimaraner. He is full grown now, and 87 pounds. He is small for his breed. But I’m glad cause he’s still a lot of dog.
