Christmas Eve afternoon, I witnessed an unhinged person beating a little puppy. He had an older dog, too. After the manager of a local pizza parlor calmed the guy down, I approached him, and told him he had two nice dogs. He asked if I had any money, so I pulled it out. He gave me Woody’s leash, and we’ve been together since 2011. He’ll be 14 on October 1st.
