Molly
Biography
To the kind people at Halifax Humane Society, My neighbor had adopted, Molly from Halifax Humane Society. Six months after her adoption they were getting a divorce and we're going to take her back to the shelter. They returned home late from work every day so we had made the arrangement for me to let her out in the afternoons for walks and then back to my house for treats. Molly and I had become friends. There's no way she was going back to the shelter. 12 years of her life she spent with me. I'm writing this to let you know... Even though I'm sure you have forgotten my sweet Molly after almost 13 years she will never be forgotten in my heart. I want to thank you for taking care of her in her young life. What you did changed my life and hers forever, and I'm very grateful. Molly had a wonderful life of love and adventure. She was such a happy girl, loved by all that knew her. Friday, April 23nd was her birthday. We did not celebrate. I was forced to put her to sleep on January 13th, 2021, in the comfort of her home on her favorite bed by the front window. An inoperable mass on her spleen and liver made this necessary. The hardest thing I've had to do. I did it out of love for her. I'm telling you all of this because I know how tough your job must be, some never find a good home and love. But please remember when it gets tough and you're staring into that dog's eyes remember the work you're doing changes many lives not just the dog standing in front of you but for all involved. For that, there are no words for my appreciation. Thank you for everything you do, unselfishly, to save the dogs and cats in your care, and especially, I thank you for my Molly.
