I’m Spike, an 8‑year‑old American Cocker Spaniel with silky ears, a big heart, and a destiny I didn’t even know I had. I adopted my Mom when I was just 3 months old — a tiny fluffball with paws too big for my body and love too big for my chest. It was her birthday, but really, it was the beginning of our life. Back then, neither of us knew how much we needed each other. We were just two souls crossing paths at the perfect moment. But life has a way of showing you why you meet the ones you do. When our world fell apart — when my Mom lost her only hoomun child — I stayed right beside her. I curled into her when she cried. I nudged her when she needed to move. I loved her with every beat of my little heart. I kept her going because she was my whole world, and I was hers. We’ve been inseparable ever since. I keep her on her toes, I make her smile, and she gives me the kind of love that makes my tail wag even in my sleep. She’s my soul hoomun. My forever person. My everything. And we’ll love each other forever and a day — because some bonds aren’t just made… they’re meant.
