Duke
Biography
Meet Duke: part noble guardian, part furry wrecking ball, part emotionally fragile Victorian child. At five years old, this handsome neutered German shepherd has appointed himself Head of Security, Director of Squirrel Surveillance, and Interim Cat Compliance Officer for the household. 🐾 Built like a linebacker with the enthusiasm of a caffeinated toddler, Duke considers fetch less of a game and more of a sacred calling. Tennis balls beware. He launches after them with the force of a medieval catapult and returns proudly, convinced every throw is the greatest achievement in recorded history. Thanks to his impressive strength and “full-throttle-all-the-time” operating system, training became less of a hobby and more of a diplomatic necessity. Beneath all that horsepower, though, lives a colossal softie. This fearless defender of the yard can face down suspicious squirrels, rogue rabbits, and any creature foolish enough to twitch near the fence line… yet a tiny owie may result in a level of emotional devastation usually reserved for Shakespearean tragedies. Duke adores his people with unwavering loyalty and keeps a particularly watchful eye on his little sister Bella, his trusted sidekick and partner in canine affairs. He also patrols the cats with stern but gentle authority. Should one step out of line, Duke conducts immediate corrective action by booping them firmly with his nose like an overzealous hall monitor wrapped in fur. He loves car rides, long walks, and any opportunity to be included in family adventures. Equal parts guardian, goober, athlete, and oversized baby, Duke fills the house with noise, love, chaos, and an impressive amount of shepherd hair. Life with him is never quiet, rarely orderly, and infinitely better because he’s in it.
