Biography

We rescued Spike from the Cattaraugus County SPCA in Olean, Ny in January of 2020. He was the longest resident that they had at the shelter and he had been there for almost half of his life. We don't know to much about his background but we're told that it was a CYS case and he was the only one that wasn't allowed to go back to the home. We almost said no to him because in the playroom, he nipped (very hard) by husband and I both. We thought it over and realized that he was just very excited and he didn't mean to bite. We took him for a walk around the outside of the shelter and he was so sweet. When we went back inside, we were informed that one of the ladies that worked at the SPCA had put up his adoption fee because her husband would not let her take another dog home. We ended up taking him home and it was one of the best decisions we have made. He is a big baby, but is protective of his humans.
